Joyce Leiphon and the $20,000 turkey

As we embark on another Thanksgiving season, I wanted to write about what we did while I was a member of Light of the World Church each November.

It's the annual "Money Cometh to Me" conference held in Darrow, LA at Dr Leroy Thompson's church. We'd be asked to start seed sowing (MONEY) for her expenses and to sow (give till it hurts) as much for this week long love fest of material riches.

Joyce Leiphon as usual will go to this conference as she does each year to sow into her man of god. She will go and bring a money offering each day for the 5 day conference, at two meetings each day she'll have to bring some major cash with her on this trip.

I remember being asked one year what Light of the World did for the poor and needy in Ft Pierce, how many families did we help feed. Unfortunately, my answer was.....NONE! But I can tell you, when Joyce Leiphon came back from Dr Thompson's fund raising show, she did tell us she gave $20,000.00 to Dr Thompson and we should be striving to be like her. Of course that meant we were to give her the money directly.

Now that's a $20,000 turkey. How many families could that have helped in Ft Pierce? We'll never know, but one thing for sure this Thanksgiving, I'm giving thanks that I'm not part of this ponzi scheme and not part of Light of the World Church.

  1. If this pastor is, in fact, running a ponzi scheme, rest assured it will eventually catch up with her. Having previously worked in law enforcement, she should be smart enough to figure that out.

  2. It is truly a mystery as to where all this money is coming from. The few people in her church cannot possibly be THAT wealthy and the pastor undoubtedly has living expenses and bills to pay just like anyone else. So WHERE is the money coming from?

  3. If the pastor is able to meet all of her own bills and living expenses and still have thousands and thousands to give to Leroy Thompson, obviously she's raking in some big bucks from somewhere. After I pay all of my bills and make a trip to Publix, I might have $15 or $20 left in my wallet if I'm lucky.

  4. The money comes from those who have been deceived that giving money to her will eventually make them rich. My family would give nearly 50% of our income to her each week believing the "money cometh gig" It's a big money game. I didn't pay my truck payments, did without food, etc. It would not take many people giving (sowing) hundreds of dollars each week to become wealthy.

  5. Well, if these church folks are fortunate enough to have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds to give to their pastor, and are doing it of their own free will, then there is nothing illegal about that. Hopefully this is the case and they are not being coerced or intimidated or put in fear or brainwashed to believe that something bad will happen to them if they don't. If this is the case, then obviously the line has been crossed and it's a whole different story. Find it hard to believe that supposedly intelligent well informed people in this day and age could be deceived that giving money to her will make them rich.

    1. they think they are giving this money of their own free will but in fact they truly are manipulated into thinking it is God telling them to give all this money to this preacher if they want to be blessed themselves. This preacher and others like her have no true understanding of the Gospel. the fact they can use the word God for personal gain tells me the whole story. Jesus has never become real to them. Yeah they say it but he as a human just like you and I. He has not become real to them . he is just a means of earning a living and gaining respect in the communtiy. Yes I agree this two will come to and end. I am praying it is not to late for Joyce and her followers. they all could very well lose their soul. I am personally singing " Wait a little longer please Jesus" God is still on the Throne. He has not been replaced with Joyce Leiphon or Leroy Thompson

  6. When this "Money Cometh to You" comference is held in Fort Pierce in a few days, it will be interesting to see how many hundreds or thousands of people show up and hand over their money to these two "preachers" (Leiphon and Leroy) believing that doing so will make them rich.
